President - Kathleen Haynes

Kathleen Haynes has served on the Caesar Rodney School Board for nine years, serving as vice-president for two years. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Pennsylvania and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Dickinson School of Law. Kathleen currently works as an attorney with the Social Security Administration's Office of Disability Adjudication and Review. She has two children who currently attend district schools and one child who graduated from Caesar Rodney High School.
Vice President - David Sechler

David Sechler has served on the Caesar Rodney School Board since July, 2007. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Distributive Education and a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction, both from Delaware State College. Before serving on the Board, he worked for thirty years as a Delaware public school teacher and administrator. In 1999, he became the first principal of Fred Fifer Middle School where he stayed until he retired in July 2006.
Member - David Henderson

Mr. David Henderson has served on the Board since July of 2003. He is a retired Delaware State Police Officer and also served four years in the United States Air Force. Mr. Henderson has resided in the district for thirty plus years.
Member - Colonel (Retired) Robert King

Colonel (Retired) Robert King has been a member of the Caesar Rodney School Board since July of 2010. He currently serves as the Chief, Force Development Flight at Dover AFB. His degrees include a Master of Science degree in Logistics Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology and a Master of Education degree from George Washington University in Washington D.C.
Member - Melody Heavner

Melody Heavner began serving on the Caesar Rodney School Board in 2011. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Baptist College in Charleston, South Carolina. Melody is currently employed as a merchandiser for Hallmark Cards.
Superintendent - Dr. Kevin Fitzgerald

Dr. Kevin R. Fitzgerald is the current Superintendent of the Caesar Rodney School District. He began his career in education as a teacher of Social Studies and English, and also held the position of Athletic Director, head football and baseball coach while in Maryland. After thirteen years in the classroom, Dr. Fitzgerald moved to Delaware and continued his career in the Caesar Rodney School District as the high school's assistant principal from 1991 through 1998. Dr. Fitzgerald then served as principal of the Caesar Rodney High School from 1998 to 2007.
During this tenure as principal, Dr. Fitzgerald was responsible for maintaining a high academic environment, increasing Advanced Placement course offerings, instituting looping in English and Mathematics, leading the high school in earning a "Superior" rating while overseeing a $32 million building renovation project. In 2004, Caesar Rodney was recognized for its work in the study of math and science with the Sieman's Advanced Placement Award and received the Lt. Governor's Model of Excellence award for high school innovation.
Dr. Fitzgerald has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Delaware, teaching courses in Leadership and Secondary School Administration. He holds a Doctorate of Educational Leadership from the University of Delaware, a Masters Degree from St. John's College and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Frostburg State University. In 2002, he was recognized as Delaware's "Secondary Principal of the Year" and was honored in 2004 and 2008 with the University of Delaware's "Commitment to Educational Excellence Award." In 2006 he was invited to contribute to the book "Best Practices of Award Winning Secondary School Principals" and currently is President of the Chief School Officers Association.
Dr. Fitzgerald and his wife, Linda, reside in Camden. They have three daughters – all graduates of Caesar Rodney High School.
